Chassis stiffening
Most classics flex. Unibody cars like Camaros, Mustangs, Datsuns and Porsches have no separate frame, and 50 years of rust and fatigue make it worse. Frame rails, subframe connectors, torque boxes, tower braces and a roll bar tie the structure together, so the suspension can do its job. Pick your car to see the kits made for it.

Stiffening or a new chassis?
If your car can take a complete aftermarket chassis or subframe, our chassis comparison lists them with prices; a new chassis usually replaces the need for most of these kits. Stiffening is the way to go when you're keeping the original structure. Fix rust in the rails, floors and towers before adding braces; a brace bolted to rotten metal doesn't help. Weld-in parts need a capable welder, and a roll bar or cage for track use should be built to your sanctioning body's rules.
