1993–95 Mazda RX-7, third generation (FD) chassis stiffening
5 kits to stiffen the body shell, from frame rails and connectors to braces and roll bars.
- How it's built
- Steel unibody with aluminum hood and an aluminum power plant frame tying the transmission to the differential
- Weak spots
- Rust is less of an issue than on older RX-7s but appears in the rear wheel arches, rocker panels and around sunroof drains. Engine-bay heat cooks rubber bushings and hoses, the front anti-roll bar mounts are known to crack, and the rubber-bushed rear toe links let toe change under load.
