1973 Porsche 914-6 GT Tribute with 3.0 flat-six and 915 five-speed, no reserve
Steel-flared 914 with a 3.0 six and 915 box, bidding at less than half of recent six-swap sales.
Sold Why we picked it
Why we picked it: this is a 1973 914/4 chassis converted to 914-6 GT style, with a carbureted 3.0-liter air-cooled flat-six, a 915-based five-speed, steel GT flares and rockers, a front GT spoiler and wide Fuchs wheels. It has a clean Pennsylvania title and is offered at no reserve from a collection.
The current bid is $23,000 with the auction running to October 29, and bids usually climb. Other six-cylinder 914 conversions sold this fall for $46,000 and $67,000. The listing does not say how the car runs or whether the chassis is solid, so it is priced like a car that needs sorting, and a buyer should inspect it in person.
The value check
When we found it, the bid was $30,000. Comparable cars in the same condition have sold for $46,000–$67,000, so the middle of the market is about $56,500. That put this car 47% under.
914/4 cars with six-cylinder swaps sold on BaT in September 2026 for $46,000 (3.0) and $67,000 (3.6 from a 964).

What to check
- Body condition is not described: check the hell hole under the battery tray, longitudinals, jack points and floor pans
- It is a tribute on a four-cylinder chassis, not a factory 914-6
- Ask who built the 3.0 and whether there are receipts; check oil cooling and fuel line routing
- No brake or suspension upgrade is listed for the extra power
- Radio removed, leaving a hole in the dash; sold as is with a 7% buyer's premium
Making it drive like new
The big jobs are chassis stiffening (engine shelf and longitudinal reinforcement kits), 911 front struts and brakes or Wilwood calipers, a front oil cooler with proper lines, and a modern fuel pump with safety fittings. Add a fire extinguisher and harness bar if it will see track days.
How it ended
It sold for $46,010 on Oct 29, 2026, against a market value of about $56,500 when we found it.
