Why we picked it

This 1971 1750 GTV is a US-market car with SPICA mechanical fuel injection and a 5-speed. The seller says the engine has been fully rebuilt and run in, with a new clutch, brake master cylinder, battery and tires, and that it runs and drives well. The body is described as never hit, with original panels and mostly original paint that is presentable but not perfect.

Recent US sales of 1750 GTVs on Bring a Trailer have ranged from $22,000 to $49,500, so $27,495 sits well below the middle for a running car. The interior is original and needs work, which is where the next money goes, but the expensive mechanical part is said to be done already.

The value check

When we found it, the seller was asking $27,495. Comparable cars in the same condition have sold for $22,000–$49,500, so the middle of the market is about $35,750. That put this car 23% under.

Seven US-market 1750 GTV results on Bring a Trailer since Oct 2025 sold from $22,000 to $49,500 (one more stalled at $25,000), giving a $35,750 midpoint for running drivers; this car asks about 23% under that.

Where the numbers come from:

What to check

  • The listing says the car is at the client's home, not at the Cadillac, MI showroom; confirm where it is before planning a visit.
  • The VIN shown (AMS49359) is not in Alfa's AR format; check the chassis number on the car and the title match.
  • 105-series coupes rust in the sills, floors, rear wheel arches, trunk floor and around the windshield and rear window; get it on a lift.
  • SPICA injection needs someone who knows it; ask for the rebuild receipts and confirm the injection pump and thermostatic actuator have been serviced.
  • The interior needs attention; price in seats, carpet and dash work.
  • The seller says the title is clean; verify it.

Making it drive like new

Keep the SPICA if it is healthy, or switch to Weber or Dell'Orto carbs if you prefer easier tuning. Upgrade to modern radial tires on period-style wheels, fit polyurethane suspension bushings, uprated springs and Bilstein-type dampers, and add an alternator and electronic ignition. A 2.0-liter engine swap is a common, well-supported step for more torque later.

How it ended

The listing ended on Oct 30, 2026. We don't know yet whether it sold.
