1974 Chevrolet Nova coupe with a FiTech EFI 350, A/C and Dakota Digital gauges
EFI small-block Nova with working A/C and modern gauges, bid at about half of recent modified sales.
1974 Chevrolet Nova
Sold Why we picked it
This 1974 Nova coupe runs a 350 V8 with FiTech fuel injection, an Edelbrock aluminum intake and MSD ignition, backed by a TH350 automatic. It has air conditioning, Dakota Digital gauges, dual exhaust with electric cutouts, 15-inch Weld wheels and a reupholstered yellow and black interior to match the paint. The listing says the battery, starter, fuel pump, cylinder heads and bumpers have been replaced. It has a clean Texas title.
The seller discloses a dent in the passenger fender and paint chips. The VIN's engine code suggests the car may have left the factory with a six-cylinder, so treat the V8 as a later swap unless the seller can show otherwise. The bid was $9,400 with 14 bids when we checked, and the auction ends October 12. Bids usually climb near the end.
The value check
When we found it, the bid was $9,400. Comparable cars in the same condition have sold for $16,000–$22,500, so the middle of the market is about $19,250. That put this car 51% under.
Modified 1974 Novas sold for $16,000 (BaT, Jul 2026), $16,250 (Jun 2026) and $22,500 (BaT, Apr 2026). The $9,400 bid is about 51% under the $19,250 midpoint with five days left, and bids usually climb.

What to check
- Check the subframe bushings, frame-to-body mounts and the rear leaf spring hangers
- Look for rust in the trunk floor, lower quarters, cowl and the floors under the carpet
- Ask how the FiTech fuel system is plumbed (return line, pump location) and for receipts on the heads
- The VIN suggests it was originally a six-cylinder car; confirm the brakes and rear axle were upgraded for the V8
- Mileage is TMU; ask about the condition of the TH350
Making it drive like new
The 1968-74 Nova has some of the best bolt-on support of any GM car. Add a bolt-on front subframe or tubular arms with coilovers, multi-leaf or 4-link rear, four-wheel disc brakes and a quick-ratio steering box. A 700R4 or 4L60E overdrive would make the EFI 350 much better on the highway.
9 builders make a complete chassis for the 1968–74 Nova. Compare them side by side, along with what it takes to stiffen the factory frame.
How it ended
It sold for $17,655 on Oct 12, 2026, against a market value of about $19,250 when we found it.
