1980–90 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 & FJ62 chassis
We haven't found a complete aftermarket chassis for this car yet, so the way to modernize it is to stiffen and upgrade the original frame.
Upgrade the original chassis
- How it's built
- Body-on-frame, steel ladder frame
- Front suspension
- Solid front axle with closed steering knuckles on semi-elliptic leaf springs. Power recirculating-ball steering.
- Rear suspension
- Solid rear axle on semi-elliptic leaf springs.
- Weak spots
- Rust attacks the rear quarter panels, tailgate and rear floor, wheel wells, rocker panels and the windshield frame and cowl. Leaf springs sag, shackles, pins and spring bushings wear, and steering boxes and knuckle seals leak.
