1992 Nissan Skyline Autech Version, a low-production four-door R32 with RB26 power

A rare Autech four-door R32 already in the US. Worth a look if you want something few people have seen.

Rare Autech-built four-door R32. The listing says about 189 were made, and Nissan's heritage collection lists it with a naturally aspirated 2.6-liter RB26DE and electronically controlled AWD.

Why we picked it

Toprank Importers lists this green 1992 Skyline as the Autech Version, a four-door R32 that Autech Japan built in small numbers. The listing puts production at about 189 cars. Nissan's own heritage page says the Autech Version uses a naturally aspirated 2.6-liter RB26DE rated at 220 PS, plus electronically controlled all-wheel drive. That makes it a rare car, not just another GTS-4 sedan.

The car is already in Cypress, California. It has an automatic, 172,570 km (about 107,200 miles), and factory extras like the rear spoiler, fog lights and an airbag steering wheel. It is sold as-is with no warranty. The listing gives no service history. Toprank notes that imports cannot be registered in California until they are brought into California compliance. As with any 25-year import, the odometer reads in kilometers. Confirm the customs, EPA and DOT release paperwork and a clean US title before you pay.

The value check

No US sales of this variant were found in the last 24 months, so it is picked for rarity rather than price. Ordinary R32 GTS-4 sedans are common imports, but the Autech Version is a small-run, factory-tuner car with its own engine.

Where the numbers come from:

What to check

  • Title: confirm customs/EPA/DOT release paperwork and a clean US title, and plan for the extra cost if you register it in California
  • Rust: check the rear wheel arches, sills, strut towers and the spare-tire well, which are common R32 trouble spots
  • The naturally aspirated RB26DE and the Autech trim parts are hard to find, so check that the intake, trim and badges are all there
  • Automatic and ATTESA AWD: look for clean fluid, smooth shifts, and no binding or warning lights on tight turns
  • No history: ask for Japanese auction sheet, export certificate and any service records

Making it drive like new

Keep the rare parts original and store any you remove. For daily use, focus on things you can undo: fresh bushings and coilovers, bigger brakes from an R32 GT-R or later Nissan, modern tires and a careful cooling refresh. Swapping in a manual or a turbo motor would erase what makes this car special.
