Why we picked it

Why we picked it: this is a 1973 Travelall 1210, the 3/4-ton four-wheel-drive version, with the International 345 V8 and a manual gearbox. The private seller says the engine and transmission run well, that it could go on the road after an inspection, and that it has a clear title ready to transfer. Classic.com lists it as a project.

At $3,950 it is well below what other rough Travelalls have brought lately ($6,100 to about $10,250), and most of those were two-wheel-drive half-tons. A 4x4 Travelall is a strong base for a modern drivetrain, disc brakes, and a comfortable family hauler build.

The value check

The seller is asking $3,950. Comparable cars in the same condition have sold for $6,100–$10,250, so the middle of the market is about $8,175. That put this car 52% under.

Rough and project-grade Travelalls have recently sold for about $6,100 (1972 1010 project, Sep 2025) to $10,250 (1973 1010D, Mar 2026), with a modified 1965 4x4 panel at $9,350; nicer drivers bring $12,750-19,500. At $3,950 this 4x4 3/4-ton is about 52% under the $8,175 midpoint.

Where the numbers come from:

What to check

  • The truck is in Sherbrooke, Quebec. A US buyer will need Canadian export and US customs paperwork; confirm the title transfers cleanly into your state.
  • Confirm whether the $3,950 price is in US or Canadian dollars; the page does not say clearly.
  • Quebec road salt: check rockers, floors, cab corners, rear quarters, tailgate area and the frame closely. Rust is not mentioned in the listing.
  • Mileage is marked TMU (true mileage unknown).
  • Parts for the 1210 trim pieces are scarcer than for Chevy or Ford trucks; check that glass and trim are present.

Making it drive like new

The 345 can stay with an electronic ignition and fuel injection kit, or the truck can take an LS or late Ford swap with a modern overdrive automatic. Add front disc brakes, a dual-circuit master cylinder, power steering, and a later Dana 44 or 60 front axle setup with fresh springs to make it a dependable daily 4x4.
