Reading these prices

Starting prices aren't always comparable. Some include suspension, steering and brakes; some are a bare frame or front clip and the rest is extra. Check the Front and Rear columns and each product's notes before comparing totals. "Price on request" means the builder quotes each build. Confirm with the builder before you order, and send corrections through our contact page.

Upgrade the original chassis

How it's built
Unibody rear structure with a bolt-on, rubber-isolated front subframe
Front suspension
Unequal-length SLA A-arms, coil springs on the lower arms, tube shocks; Saginaw recirculating-ball steering (manual or integral power)
Rear suspension
Hotchkiss live axle on mono-leaf springs (multi-leaf on some performance models), staggered shocks on some
Weak spots
The front subframe joins the unibody only through rubber biscuits and sheet metal, so the shell twists and the cowl shakes under power and cornering. Mono-leaf springs allow wheel hop, and the soft bushings and stock camber curve limit grip.

Stiffening the body or frame? We list 7 kits for this car, such as frame rails, subframe connectors and braces, on its Chassis stiffening page.
