1992–2000 Honda Civic (EG & EK) chassis

This car is a unibody, so there's no separate frame to replace. The way to modernize it is to upgrade the original suspension, stiffen the body shell and fix the known weak spots.

Upgrade the original chassis

How it's built
Steel unibody
Front suspension
Double wishbone suspension with coil-over dampers, compliance-bushed lower arms and an anti-roll bar on most trims. Rack-and-pinion steering, power assisted on most trims.
Rear suspension
Double wishbone independent rear suspension with trailing arms and coil-over dampers. The car is front-wheel drive with an open differential on US models.
Weak spots
Rear wheel arches, rear quarter panels and rocker panels rust. Rear trailing arm bushings and front compliance bushings wear and tear, which causes clunks, wandering and uneven tire wear, and lowered cars run out of camber adjustment.

Stiffening the body or frame? We list 4 kits for this car, such as frame rails, subframe connectors and braces, on its Chassis stiffening page.
