1960–66 Suburban (Carryall) chassis

We haven't found a complete aftermarket chassis for this car yet, so the way to modernize it is to stiffen and upgrade the original frame.

Upgrade the original chassis

How it's built
Body-on-frame ladder chassis shared with the C/K pickups; two-door wagon body with panel or tailgate rear doors.
Front suspension
2WD: independent front, torsion bars in 1960-62 and coil springs from 1963. 4x4 (K10): solid front axle on leaf springs.
Rear suspension
2WD half-tons used coil springs with trailing arms; 4x4 and heavier models used leaf springs.
Weak spots
Rust in floors, rockers and lower body; aging stamped trailing arms and bushings; drum brakes and slow manual steering.
