1992–99 GMT400 Suburban chassis

We haven't found a complete aftermarket chassis for this car yet, so the way to modernize it is to stiffen and upgrade the original frame.

Upgrade the original chassis

How it's built
Body-on-frame ladder chassis from the GMT400 pickups; four-door wagon in 1500 and 2500 versions.
Front suspension
Independent front on all versions: coil springs on 2WD, torsion bars on 4x4.
Rear suspension
Solid axle on leaf springs.
Weak spots
Rust in rear wheel arches, rockers, brake lines and fuel lines; worn steering parts and intermediate-shaft clunk; tall, heavy body rolls a lot on stock bars.
