Reading these prices

Starting prices aren't always comparable. Some include suspension, steering and brakes; some are a bare frame or front clip and the rest is extra. Check the Front and Rear columns and each product's notes before comparing totals. "Price on request" means the builder quotes each build. Confirm with the builder before you order, and send corrections through our contact page.

Upgrade the original chassis

How it's built
Full ladder frame (open C-channel rails)
Front suspension
Independent SLA: torsion bars 1960-62, coil springs 1963-66; Saginaw recirculating-ball box with relay linkage
Rear suspension
Solid axle on coil springs with trailing arms (leaf springs on heavier models)
Weak spots
The open C-channel rails twist, and the trailing-arm rear is loosely located side to side. Tall ride height, slow manual steering and a narrow 60-62 torsion-bar front limit handling.

Stiffening the body or frame? We list 1 kit for this car, such as frame rails, subframe connectors and braces, on its Chassis stiffening page.
